In July 2025, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) released an updated Charter School Audit Guide (the “Guide”). The revised Guide introduces additional compliance requirements in the areas of financial reporting, charter amendment approvals, and disclosures of related party transactions.
